Words | Mischief | Angelo

Bunky's words are really coming along.  Sort of.  A few new ones popped up this week: "Boppy" (Poppy, the cat), "May!" (May, his nanny), "Bye bye", "Ball", "Baaaaaa" (that's "Bath", actually) and "Down" (when he wants to get on the floor). Tonight's pre-bedtime conversation was rather amusing.  Some people may find it more amusing than others...

.

Me: "George, say Momo? Aunty Momo?  Momo?"

George: "Momo.  Momo."

Me: "Good boy!  Say 'Jane'?  'Jaaaane'"

George: "Nah."

Me: "George, come on - say 'Jane'?"

George: "Naaaah."

.

Sorry Aunty Jane.  I'm not making it up - your beloved sister was standing right there.

A few cellphone photos of the Bunkymeister the other day.  I got home a little early on Friday, and as I got changed, George took it upon himself to snoop around the drawers and under the bed.  Apologies for the quality of these - they were taken on my phone in somewhat crappy light:

I'll leave you with a few photos of my friend and fellow camera nut, Angelo.  On Friday night we wandered around Central taking random photos and playing with different lenses - good fun.  I lasted until about 9pm and then came home.  Angelo finished up at 4am.  I am getting olllllllld.

Odds and ends

Lord Bunky of Hong Kong had a lovely weekend (as always).  He watched his first rugby game with the boys yesterday and then went to his mate Milo's 1st birthday party just across in the other block.  Then he slept obliviously as his parents went and got amongst some fine dining at the Football Cricket Club for Kate's 50th birthday dinner (seriously - Tempura ArtichokeIt kicked ass). The weather was a bit bleak today, so we headed down to the local toy shop (Wise Kids) which has an indoor playground - just perfect for crappy weather days. The little man had an absolute ball down there - it was really lovely to see.  He was absolutely over the moon climbing through tunnels, hiding behind walls, and just generally being a little boy.  There's no photography allowed down there, but I did manage to take a few stealth photos on my phone (under the pretense of sending text messages):

In the afternoon, G's godparents (the UK-based ones, Sam and Katy) came over with John and Kate to visit the little man before taking off back to the UK.  After a 5 minute warming up period, he was quite happy to play with his visitors and he even kindly let them read stories to him.  He's so generous.

Not much  else really - although I should send a big Happy Birthday out to George's other godmother, Ang.  Happy Birthday Ang! (From your favourite godchild...)

A few photos that I had sitting in the camera - a black and white one that beautifully shows off the little man's afro and the eyelashes, and another set that shows you what George's foot does during his "Oh look - a sheepskin rug... I must put my head down" minibreaks.

I cannot think of a title for this entry

. A collection of iPhone photos from Sunday - we wandered down to the grassy area at Cyberport and let Bunky tear around and eat grass (the usual routine).  Ok, so maybe not a lot of grass eaten this time - the focus was on teaching him to go down the little concrete steps backwards.  He's still not crash hot at it, but he's getting there:

And one for the "Only in Hong Kong" file.  This "cordoned off" area was just outside the supermarket. I did look up at the ceiling to see if there was a leak or something, but nope - nothing out of the ordinary up there.  The mind boggles at the thought process of whoever set up this cordon:

A few leftover phone photos

The first was taken yesterday when Bunky came to visit me at work, and the rest are randoms from New Zealand: .

Playing on the grass outside my work

A random church that we walked past (in Havelock North)

In the plane from Napier to Auckland (that's George's hair on the left...)

Aunty Momo and Rachel talking in the kitchen while G busies himself with Lego

Cellphone photos

This year I'm trying to take more photos on my phone - the image quality is pretty crappy, but there are plenty of programs available that allow me to do a bit of creative editing on the camera (I have to confess that I have a soft spot for the fake polaroid, having owned a real one once upon a time).  Anyway, it's forcing me to think a bit more about getting a photo right first time, rather than trying to salvage something on the computer afterwards. I just pulled a bunch of photos off the phone from our New Zealand trip, so here you go:

.

Paddy and George enjoying story time

.

Playing a George-created game (play with the speaker base, sit up, get tickled, then start again) with Granny B

.

Pulling himself up to standing, cheered on by Aunty Jane

.

Paddy pouring bubbly for the Keane ladies

.

Swing time at the park

.

Sneaking out from under a chair

.

.

And finally, one for his London-based godparents:

.

How's the weather out there this week?
